TELEVISIONS’S IMPACT ON CHILDREN

When my kids were younger growing up, they watched TV every day after school. Surely, television is not a bad thing, but nobody can deny that it has negative effects too. Violence, along with sexual content, more than anything else represents television’s bad influence on children. And Although I use to use TV as a babysitter for my children, I think television has a positive influence on youth today because it introduces them to the outside world of more new positive aspects.
Some of those children are examples of positive impact; some of them are examples of negative impact that television has on children. So I think I might be one of those children on which television has had positive influence. Therefore everyone, especially parents, should be aware of this bad influence television can have on their children, but still, they all should be aware what they are Watching. Some people may ask if television is harmful to children. Not only violence can lead to negative actions as kids, watching sex at an early age may influence one to engage in sex at an early age. Television is not the only source to blame; actions that are seen around the household can lead to bad influences like Domestic Violence.
Because of the influence television has on children and the impacted as they grow up. We as parents should be mindful about the effect it may have on children from watching too much of it. How much impact TV has on children depends on many factors: how much they watch, their age and personality with the kind and type of programs parents are allowing kids to watch. Although TV stimulates attention it does not encourage any physical action. If children spend long hours in front of the TV, they are likely to have less time for physical activity.
