Astronomy Research and SETI Paper
Humanity experiences many milestones throughout their existence on Earth, such as excitement, pleasure, grief, and sorrow. Simply by getting up each day to go to work or school, taking care of their children, and family we all share in life’s meaning on Earth. While some enjoy the rewards of having a family, some enjoy their life alone. Each person experiences and acknowledges their life on Earth through different aspects. However, some of humanity is intrigued by the thought of life outside of our solar system.
Like other living organisms, humans need certain properties or characteristics to exist on Earth. These functions are determined through reproduction, homeostasis, and evolution to name a few. Inhabitants of Earth are able to survive this planet due to the atmosphere, climate, water, light, and the sun. Also, since life on Earth consists of carbon forms, which is of excess on Earth, it makes it easier for enzymes to manicpulate carbon molecules. This allows for carbon, the key ingredient for all life, to naturally occur on Earth. Of all the planets currently in our solar system, the belief the one we currently live on is the best for mankind survival (“Properties Of Life”, n.d.).
The actual origin or genesis of life on Earth occurred one of two ways. Life started out of a natural process or one’s belief that a God or religious figure created everything. Since no profound evidence has been provided to support life was created by an intelligent source, we can rely on the scientific selection of a natural process was used to create what we know as life on Earth. There are many theories of evolution, and of what man has evolved from. The popular theory of evolution is of our evolution into man from primates. However, the most prominent is the theory of evolution is by naturalist Charles Darwin (“The Enduring Mystery Of Life’S Origin”, 2009).
Darwin also proposed the theory of natural selection. In 1858, Charles…
